Reporting directly to the newly promoted Commercial Director, your remit will include:
• Providing inspirational and commercial leadership to a team of Category Planning Managers and Scheduling Managers
• Set clear and creative business plans for each core category to maximise turnover and profit figures
• Understand and deliver a clear customer proposition to provide an unrivalled quality and cost effective offering
• In partnership with the Trading Managers, ensure procurement and stock management is in line with plans
• Oversee the briefing of the TV Production operation to maximise sales whilst delivering superior quality programming
• Manage the scheduling of the core channels to provide the widest and most targeted programming in the market
• As a member of the senior management team, be prepared to work and be on call when needed to ensure the quality of products and programming is upheld at all times

Who we're looking for
You will already be recognised as a successful, passionate, creative and driven commercial retail professional who thrives on the opportunity to work within one of the UK's fastest and thriving retail environments. Ideally you will work within a recognised leading high street, catalogue,on-line or TV based retailer and have built a reputation for delivering successful business plans as well as providing world class leading customer focused activity and consumer marketing understanding.
Ideally of graduate calibre and having excellent numeric and analytical skills, you will thrive on working within a pressurised environment where everyone is working to deliver 'the best'. A strong team working ethos is essential as is the ability to work to a shared vision. The ability to manage a team even when under pressure must be off set with the ability to delegate when necessary.
This is not a 9 to 5, five days a week opportunity and as such non-working hours operation will be called upon regularly.
