- The objective of the role is to continually deliver a pipeline of new product developments, which will deliver growth to the business, and maintain the brand status. It is also to deliver and continually update a library of innovation application ideas - that can be used as a sales tool for customer presentations to promote growth in new market areas.
Main Tasks:-
- interpretation of market briefs into workable product concepts
- to build strategic relationships with key customers, and interpreting their NPD requirements within the company strategy.
- supporting sales team, with NPD presentations to customers of both product and application ideas, travelling to customers where necessary.
- to monitor market trends - through proactive market surveillance, utilising supplier knowledge. Incorporating knowledge into the NPD process as appropriate
- generation of concept samples as appropriate for market research/product briefings, customer presentations.
- to deliver a library of targeted product application ideas, providing a resource for customers, sales and marketing teams
- managing the sensory aspects of the development process both in new product developments and bench marketing programs
Who we're looking for
- educated to degree level in food science or related
- recent relevant experience in a NPD role
- recent relevant experience within a food environment
- proven creative skills and ability to think outside the box
- driving license and own car an advantage
