Financial Controller

• Maintain the general ledger and have a good understanding of multi-currency accounting
• Prepare financial statements on a monthly basis and quarterly reporting under US GAAP and submit to Group on a timely basis.
• Prepare quarterly financial statements under UK GAAP and contribute towards the board report.
• Production of relevant returns for direct and indirect taxes
• Review the cash & bank, investment and expenses on a monthly basis.
• Prepare or ensure there are adequate supporting schedules for all trial balance accounts on a quarterly basis, this should move to monthly on the final quarter.
• Ensure all transactions are correctly coded and posted on a timely basis
• Ensure general financial administration is carried out by staff on a timely basis e.g. dealing with expenses, petty cash payments, payment of invoices
• Be aware of and comply with the FSA Principles for Business and, if applicable the FSA Statements of Principle for Approved Persons
• Assist in the preparation of the end of year FSA return
• Ensure National Statistics and other regulatory returns are produced on time and to review them for accuracy
• Manage the team on a daily basis and provide training where necessary
• Assist with ad hoc projects where necessary

Who we're looking for
• ACA or equivalent Qualification
• Financial service or insurance industry experience
• working knowledge of US GAAP and detailed experience of UK GAAP and company law
• Ability to work within tight reporting deadlines, meeting the demands and challenges of a fluid, matrix reporting structure
