Business Development Manager

Outsourced Training Provider

South West

Responsible for identifying and acquiring (bidding for) funding streams that will complement and enhance existing mainstream programmes and to develop new business opportunities.

• To support the Deputy Director with external networking and the identification of strategic opportunities
• To develop external partnerships at senior levels.
• To develop strategies which underpin and ensure the delivery of performance targets, and communicate these through the Management team.
• To ensure robust procedures are in place and reviewed regularly to satisfy contractual obligations and contractual quality requirements.
• To effectively use management information to identify opportunities for alternative funding strategies to support our business.
• To establish and maintain effective working relations with key funding bodies through partnership and networking opportunities.
• To further develop business opportunities in the region through specific contacts that support current operations and new business development.

Who we're looking for
• Strong Sales track record, preferably into the Public Sector. Experience of preparing £1m+ bids with sometimes long lead times.
• An understanding of the Outsourced Training and Learning market and the ability to anticipate, and respond accordingly.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentational skills
• Ability to identify and develop potential opportunities to support existing and future business streams
• Strong communication skills and ability to network at all levels
• A solid commercial understanding of managing risk and reward, and using financial information to run an efficient business.
• The ability to manage all contacts with clients, partners and customers through excellent relationships and account management .
