The job holder reports to the Head of Key Accounts and must work from home as this is a remote working position. The position involves managing a sales team of 5-8 Key Account Managers (KAMs). The KAMs are mainly remote workers operating from home and travelling throughout the UK regularly. The post holder will receive administrative support from an office-based Admin Support shared with another Team Manager and the Head of Sales. To effectively manage the Team requires regular travel around the UK and occasionally in Europe.

The two main responsibilities of the job are to manage a key account and to manage a Key Accounts Team to deliver sales targets. To achieve this, the post holder oversees the origination of complex gas and power structured deals involving full requirements transactions and long-term purchase and sales contracts to win and retain profitable accounts. Once sales targets have been agreed with the Head of Key Accounts at the start of the year, the job holder is expected to manage the Sales Team to help ensure that all KAMs in his/her team reach their targets. This requires specifying and analysing various management reports, as well as manipulating and customising large, complex spreadsheets.

Who we're looking for
A good balance of analytical, managerial and business development skills with strong commercial acumen is essential. The job holder must have demonstrable team management skills and be a strong leader able to manage and prioritize multiple opportunities. You will have a proven record of managing a sales team selling solutions to key decision makers at a blue-chip client base.

Other requirements:
• Negotiating and consensus building;
• Verbal and written communication including good presentation skills;
• Dynamic attitude with a flexible and pragmatic approach;
• Drive to deliver and proven ability to achieve ambitious targets;
• Strong problem solving skills, allowing for smart tactical solutions (strategic thinker able to manage him/herself).

Degree in business, finance, economics, engineering or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
