European Tax Manager

To assist the Group Tax manager in managing the group's tax affairs in respect of European tax issues.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Work with the local teams and advisors to understand the business and the tax issues that arise and need to be managed.
• Work with the employment, VAT and customs advisors to ensure that any related tax issues are handled correctly.
• Preparing contemporaneous TP documentation
• Reviewing the TP margins on a quarterly basis and working with international finance to ensure that where TP changes are required, they are made in a timely manner
• Ensuring that cross-border activities are carried out in the most tax efficient manner
• Monitoring the inter-company loan positions with regards to thin capitalisation and TP issues.
• Ensure that withholding tax is properly accounted for on inter-company loans and that where applicable treaty clearance are made to apply the lower rate of withholding tax
• Building a relationship with the international teams to ensure that tax is included in the decision making process where necessary.
• Work with our external advisors to identify more tax efficient ways of structuring cross-border transactions.
• Reviewing dividend repatriation opportunities and making these where possible, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is generated to support both the tax computations and dividend payments.
• Review the tax compliance arrangements in each country and ensure they are operating effectively.
• Work with the local entities to produce the tax provision spreadsheet for inclusion in the group tax charge.
• Work with the local entity to ensure that local tax audits are managed effectively and in-line with group policies.
• Manage the UK Tax Accountant who handles UK compliance issues.

Who we're looking for
• Qualified accountant or Qualified tax advisor, with at least two years post-qualification experience in industry
• Sound tax technical knowledge across all aspects of International tax.
• Strong Commercial awareness
