Reporting to the Head of Logistics the role of Logistics Manager has arisen due to the promotion of the current job holder. As such a Supply Chain Logistics expert is required to continue the excellent work performed by the current incumbent whilst having the specialist knowledge to build and ultimately improve on the existing departments capabilities.
Acting as the internal Logistics specialist you will be the main point of contact for all internal functions to use as a valuable resource. As such this highly cross functional role will work with sales, marketing, finance and 3PL's to name a few of the functions you will liaise with on a regular basis.
The Main areas of responsibility are as follows:
People Management: You will be responsible for leading asmall team.
MRP: In addition to daily usage of the SAP system you will also support other users from training through to resolving issues.
Logistics: Work with 3PL's from contract management to insurance issues. Exports are a key activity within this business and export laws, rules and regulations need to be understood, followed and communicates to the broader business.
As a forward thinking, market leader creativity and class leading techniques are demanded to remain the best in class. Implementing new process and procedures and updating existing methods of work are essential.
As the in house expert you will work directly with customers to understand their needs, identify the supply chain synergies and ensure OTIF delivery.
Who we're looking for
Strong Logistics knowledge is the minimum requirement to include a proven track record of 3PL management, a firm understanding of Export Law, knowledge of Global Trade Compliances.
You will be able to understand the broader supply chain and use your knowledge todevise new processes and procedures.
Excellent people management skills, ideally you will have managed a team of at least 5 people.
MRP: Ideally you will have excellent SAP skills, use of other MRP packages is a minimum.
Candidates educated to degree level will be at an advantage.
Membership of MILT is desirable.
You must be comfortable working in a demanding and busy environment and dealing with people on a face to face basis> Key to success is the ability to work with a wide range of internal stakeholders at all levels in the organisation, as such excellent communication skills are a must.
You must be eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis and be able to attend interviews at your own cost.
