This is an autonomous role reporting to the Logistics Director responsible for the Transport and Distribution operation within the food manufacturing and retail supply markets. Responsible for over seeing all transport planning and route scheduling maximising vehicle utilisation and cost effectiveness. All transport is outsourced so your role is to negotiate all third party contracts; together with monitoring, reviewing and controlling spend on each one.Develop monthly KPI pack to monitor performance of hauliers and service levels. You will also analyse spend versus budget as well as working closely with all departments to ensure successful delivery of goods to customers. The transport budget preparation and control will come under the control of this person also.
Who we're looking for
• Good IT/ analytical skills (SAP,Excel, Access).
• Strong Management skills/ ability to lead others.
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Effective negotiation skills.
• Experience in similar transport planning or management role.
• CPC holder would be an advantage.
