This firm is setting up a new commercial team at their south coast offices and therefore the role provides an exciting opportunity to be join a team at it's inception and to be at the beginning of something that has amazing potential to grow.
In essence you will be required to:
• Act as assistant to 2 partners.
• Undertake fee earning work and to support several partners in general commercial (Commercial contract) areas.
• Deal with a range and variety of clients in the IT, retail and Travel and Leisure industries.
• Contribute to team performance and participate in team goals and plans.
• Ensure the successful development of the Department and Division in line with the Divisional Business Plan.
• Carry out the role as summarised here including objectives in key performance areas as agreed.
Who we're looking for
Our client is looking for a candidate that can demonstrate the following:
• Excellent general contract and commercial law experience including detailed experience in distribution and agency agreements / outsourcing / commercial contracts / IPR / company secretarial functions and general experience with an ability to advise on amongst others: Distribution and sub-distribution agreements, General Commercial agreements / sales / marketing / terms and conditions etc, Agency, commission and marketing agreements, Software licensing and support agreements, E-trading agreements, Website content, linkage, hosting, design and support agreements.
• Good practical drafting experience and a good grasp of Contract law and client facing interaction and ability to provide constructive and practical advice.
• A good level of IT competence
