The successful individual will have a number of key accountabilities:
• Provide strong, inspirational leadership whilst coaching, motivating and developing your team of Area Sales Managers to meet their sales, profit and business objectives.
• Maintain a high level of personal visibility in your region and act as a role model to demonstrate the ethics and values of HSS.
• Champion the improvement in sales team effectiveness by reviewing performance and ensuring that procedures and processes are consistently implemented.
• Utilise your knowledge of local markets, competition and customers to influence the way that HSS does business and to ensure that you are feeding vital client information to your Regional Director and central departments.
• Agree targets and monitor performance against these objectives so they are understood and so that you can effectively drive improvement in performance.
• Improve sales and negotiation capability through professional recruitment and by developing local talent, whilst supporting Branch openings and network changes in your region so that a seamless service is experienced by our customers and no sales are lost.
• Manage the regional sales portfolio plus a personal premium portfolio including the discount structure, operating a customer focused strategy with a competitive offering that provides your clients with a positive and professional image of the business.
• Encourage teamwork across the whole HSS team in providing excellent service to customers whilst maintaining a high frequency and quality of communication so that all parties are aware of the company vision, plans and targets.
Who we're looking for
In order to be successful in this role you will possess a number of key skills:
• Superior management and leadership qualities with a demonstrable track record in managing a sales team.
• First class communication, presentation and negotiation skills coupled with credibility, maturity and the ability to interact as part of a successful and diverse team.
• Excellent customer relationship and retention skills coupled with the ability to identify new opportunities, approach and then secure new business with these customers.
• Drive, ambition and the tenacity to motivate your sales team to achieve and exceed targets whilst managing a successful portfolio of accounts.
• Networking and influencing skills to develop effective relationships both externally and internally within the HSS organisation.
• Experience of selling into an industrial environment would be advantageous for this role but is not a pre-requisite.
