The Capital Markets practice is currently looking to recruit an experienced transactional lawyer to join the Trustee group as a Professional Support Lawyer. The role will also involve providing some support to the Securitisation group.
Work is varied but may include:
- Developing the firm's practice on, and policy with regard to, key points of law and responding effectively to changes in the law.
- Drafting and maintaining our high quality templates.
- Carrying out research for, and supporting, the firm's Opinions Committee.
- Collecting, analysing and preparing know-how and practice notes.
- Assisting the Finance and Capital Markets Practice Information Office, particularly as its on-screen services become the gateway to all our know-how and information resources.
- Assisting with the educational programme for Finance and Capital Markets Practice Lawyers.
- The preparation of e-bulletins to ensure that our lawyers and our clients are kept up to date with anticipated and actual changes in legislation, regulation and market practice.
Who we're looking for
The trustee role requires a variety of skills and we do not necessarily expect that the candidates will possess them all. The types of experience that will be relevant include exposure to Capital Markets transactions, preferably secured, and/or banking transactions with a significant security element. Other attributes associated with the role include being a self-starter who can work independently (although with the ability to recognise when guidance is needed); an excellent lawyer with an interest in the technical aspects of legal practice who can translate such knowledge readily into practical application; someone with a personable nature and an interest in nurturing junior lawyers and who is generally willing to embrace new techniques and ideas
