• Performance Management
- Help facilitate the annual performance review process, in conjunction with the HR Advisor and HR Manager, to ensure consistency across business units
• Employee Relations
- Manage operational HR issues, delivering tangible solutions in line with business requirements - i.e. flexible working requests
- Responsible for all grievance and disciplinary issues, ensuring minimum risk to the company
- Ensure direct compliance to site policy and procedures
• Employee Compensation and Benefits
- Advise individual employees regarding their maternity / paternity pay and leave entitlements and ensure compliance with all notification procedures.
- Issue contracts and manager starter/leaver process
- Assist HR Manager by providing support for aspects of compensation and benefit
• Recruitment & Selection
- Working with our Preferred Suppliers, be responsible for recruitment and selection of employees throughout the business as and when required, including sourcing candidates, identifying appropriate selection tools and providing advice to Line Managers throughout the process to ensure that high calibre candidates are recruited.
• Additional HR Accountabilities:
- ad-hoc projects as and when required - i.e. Absence Management, occupational health
- Manage HRIS to deliver HR processes ad report on site statistics.
Who we're looking for
• Demonstrated HR Advisory experience at a junior level essential. Experience within a unionized environment desirable.
• Good understanding of HR policies and methodologies
• Good understanding of employment legislation and practices
• Initiative and pro-active approach
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fast and effective relationship builder
• Good team player
• Ability to prioritise and set own targets in respect of workload
• Degree educated, Part CIPD qualified (studying towards)
