Trade Mark Attorney

Reporting to the Head of Non-Contentious IP, this high level role is a fee earning position supporting the development of the Trade Marks team. This role will be within the Brands and Design Group who provide advice and assistance in relation to all areas of brand and design rights and domain names. The Group has clients across the London, Leeds and Manchester offices.
The work is varied and includes:
· Advice on adoption of new marks and/or domain names
· Clearance searches for new trade marks and/or domain names
· Regular portfolio reviews
· Advice on correct usage of trade marks

Who we're looking for
• An ability to work independently and on own initiative, sometimes under very strict deadlines and high pressure
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure that information is 100% accurate
• Strong organisational skills to ensure that all required tasks can be performed as required, to budget and to deadline
• An ability to multi-task, dealing with a large variety of potentially unrelated issues at the same time
• Strong knowledge of IT packages including Windows, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to pick new ones up quickly
• Good communication skills and a proven team player , who will play a positive and active role within the team
• A degree, and preferably be in the process of taking the final ITMA examinations to be a Trade Mark Attorney. Applications from other candidates with relevant experience in the profession are however welcome.
• Proven experience in the trade marks field and, preferably, some experience in the patent administration field
• A strong, confident manner with clients, both internal and external, to ensure that they understand the issues and the relevance of the information provided to them
• A commitment to the firm's success and to your own personal growth and development
• Ambition and a keenness to learn and take on new challenges
