Context:
This is an exciting time jo join this team - they are in an important phase of change to ensurethey are ready to support a rapidly growing International Bank with a challenging 3 year Strategic Plan. The finance function is wholly self-contained from customer transaction to analysis and ultimately the Statutory Report & Accounts.
Principal Accountabilities -
A hands-on commercial/business finance role with primary responsibility for ensuring that allreporting requirements are met on a compliant, accurate & timely basis. Additional opportunity exists to get involved in other value adding reporting & control projects.
Key areas:
• Lead the capital planning process and all Basel 2 related projects.
• Group financial reporting returns.
• Preparation & delivery of annual statutory accounts for all legal entities, liaising with external auditors as appropriate.
• Deliver monthly and quarterly financial returns for the Jersey/Guernsey/IoM/Hong Kong banking regulators.
• Manage any future risk in key regulated metrics, by forecasting forward and developing "stress-based" scenario planning models.
• Keeping up to date with all local regulatory reporting matters - co-ordinating projects to accommodate new requirements and improve current reporting processes.
• Alongside the Financial Controller, act as the key finance contact for the various offshore regulators, especially by ensuring that any queries are diligently followed up.
• Deliver tax related returns and act upon audit queries.
• Liaising with key internal stakeholders on an ongoing basis to ensure that all source data relevant to these returns is delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ownership of the monthly data which supports regulatory reporting at Group level
• Opportunity to assist other areas of the Finance team as and when requested by the Financial Controller/CFO.
Who we're looking for
Essential:
- Accountant with relevant financial services experience.
- Sound working knowledge of preparing a set of financial reporting statements and awareness regulatory reporting requirements.
- Ability to work to timescales.
- Proven team working skills in finance and across the business.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of financial database environments.
- Ability to manage change initiatives affecting financial reporting systems.
