Database Co-ordinator / Analyst

The purpose of this role is to assist in the efficient operation of the sales and customer database by ensuring that all customer data is up to date and that Sales and Marketing have the data they need to run and manage their activities.

1. To maintain the interface between the customer database and data warehouse ensuring that customer and prospect data is as up to data and accurate as possible.
2. To maintain the prospect data pool ensuring the right data is provided for each campaign or event in a timely manner.
3. To ensure marketing and campaign response data is accurately captured to enable comprehensive analysis of these activities.
4. To create all activity and task records for the company's contact management and email systems ensuring that the National Telemarketing and teams have the correct calling information.
5. Ensuring that users of the contact management system (Advance) have adequate access to the system and are able to carry out their tasks whilst maintaining overall data security levels.
6. Provision of accurate and timely database reports to monitor levels of data quality and coverage.


The key challenges for the role:

Maintaining and developing the data matching processes that enable the customer database to have a single view of the customer and the products or services provided to them by the business.
Maintaining the database in such a way that company relationships (holding company, subsidiaries etc) are identifiable and that this information is used to ensure that only prospects are targeted for new products or services campaigns and that the correct contact details are readily identifiable for account management and cross sell activities.

Who we're looking for
Skills and Aptitudes
Intermediate level technical skills in the manipulation and analysis of data using MS Access, SQL Server (preferred) or other database tools.

Basic understanding of SQL programming language
Good understanding of relational databases in terms of their design, structure and the storage of data
Good communication skills and problem solving skills.

• Job knowledge
Understanding of business-to-business marketing processes and other uses of customer data across an organisation.
• Experience<BR>At least two years experience of manipulating and analysing corporate data, preferably within a direct marketing or customer management environment.
