Machined Parts Subcontract Buyer

The Machined Parts Subcontract Buyer is responsible for the proactive procurement of site services and outsourced manufacturing activities. You will be contributing towards the delivery of purchasing and corporate objectives.
The incumbent will have responsibility for managing the categories and the associated supplier base. This will include monitoring supplier activity through KPIs and SLA's set out in agreements,managing vendor improvement processes, working with suppliers to maintain outstanding levels of service & quality.
The role includes applying best practice purchasing tools to the procurement of materials & components, proactively negotiating improvements in cost, quality & delivery service. Also, supporting the Procurement Manager in implementing total cost reduction initiatives. The Buyer must support internal stakeholders in dealing with any issues relating to purchasing in a timely & efficient manner. You will provide information for the correct assessment & selection of suppliers.
You will be managing the procurement of on site services, outsourced manufacturing considering, at all times, continuous improvement

Who we're looking for
•Purchasing knowledge, preferably from within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Applicants must be able to work to a high degree of accuracy, especially in the production of analytical reports.
• You must be able to operate within a team environment, implementing team strategies and working under the guidance of more senior team members, and equally providing support to those with less experience.
• The role requires a high degree of customer service skills, particularly in dealing with internal stakeholders so communication, influencing skills & efficiency are key.
• Candidates should be able to demonstrate time management, prioritisation, and self-motivation.
• MCIPS / Studying towards / Willingness to study
• Related degree
