Interim Purchasing Consultant

Hospitality & Leisure

Working with the current team, you will facilitate projects and perform purchasing activities relating to major spend categories which could include food & drink, utilities, waste management, catering consumables, refurbishments, linen etc. You will work to secure the best deals in the market for the supply of these goods and services to the consortium members.
The role will require a collaborative approach with suppliers to drive sales for both parties by negotiating attractive prices on behalf of member organisations, and working on joint marketing campaigns. This must also be balanced with ensuring a good level of revenue for the company by negotiating volume rebate deals with those suppliers.
You will be expected to monitor existing and predicted market conditions such as alternative suppliers, competitor activity, pricing influences etc. in order to remain competitive. You will also have to work closely with internal colleagues in sales to understand customer requirements in order to deliver the right offering in terms of range & price.
The role will involve analysing and interpreting historical sales, finance & purchasing data for use in strategising and as a negotiating tool.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of purchasing in a hospitality & leisure industry. However, this is not essential, and applications will be considered from people with product knowledge in either a Food & Beverage category, or across a range of consumable goods & services, e.g. utilities, waste management, catering consumables, refurbishments, linen etc.

• Organised & able to prioritise tasks
• Motivational and inclusive management style
• Excellent negotiation skills
It would also be beneficial to have anappreciation of revenue generating purchasing, perhaps in a similar consortium environment, or a retail related industry.
