The role of Purchasing Manager is to implement and maintain deals with suppliers of price sensitivefood & beverageproducts which are commercially attractive to the customer base. You will audit and assess supplier capability in order to provide customers with access to products from a vetted supplier base. ThePurchasing Managerwill deliver a purchasing strategy for theircategory, outlining achievement of sales growth, and volume rebates through better purchasing practices.
Responsibilities include negotiating favourable prices, service levels & quality standards, through leveraging volumes to gain value for money. You will utilise sales data to ensure a solid negotiating position. The role involves using supplier marketing support, and maximising their input into company promotional material. The role will involve constantly assessing the market to ensure contract terms remain competitive and regularly reviewing sales activity to ensure revenue generation from volume rebates are on track. You will also respond to customer requests for new products and services.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute purchasing professional with experience in national contracts for Food and/or Drink, preferably from within Hospitality/Leisure industries, but retail and wholesale industry background will also be considered.
Applicants must have excellent negotiation and inter-personal skills and should understand how purchasing activity can impact on sales activity and revenue generation in addition to cost savings & adding value.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate that they are assertive & tenacious, with the motivation to work autonomously and achieve set targets.
