Reporting directly to the Group Accounting & Planning Manager, Otsuka is seeking to recruit a Finance Analyst to join their finance team and growing business.

As a Finance Analyst, you will provide finance and analytical support to the European Finance management group, working across all areas of financial accounting, reporting and business planning & analysis.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Financial Planning
Assist the Group Accounting & Planning Manager with;
- Preparation of budgets
- Preparation of forecasts

2. Reporting
Receive and clarify data requests, undertake data analysis, prepare information and reports to support management, including the following
- Inventory analysis & reporting
- Write-off provisions

3. Accounting support
Analysis to support the production of accurate accounts, including
- Inter-company confirmation, cross-charges and transactions
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Inventory reconciliations
- Sales analysis and invoicing
- Foreign exchange difference analysis
- VAT and Intrastat returns

4. Financial Analysis
Provide detailed analysis on complex areas and involving 25 different countries, including:-
- Sales price true-up checks
- Average selling price analysis
- Analysis of affiliate data, liaising to understand inconsistencies / concerns and following up on actions

5. Projects
- Undertake one-off financial project work, for example support for transfer pricing studies, cash flow analysis, long range planning

Job Dimensions (key facts & figures)
- Finance team is involved in controlling OPEL sales value of over E200m.
- Direct interface with staff in OPEL affiliates in France, Germany. UK, Spain and Nordic countries.
- Interface with Otsuka finance staff in Japan.

Who we're looking for
For this Finance Analyst role, we are looking for either a qualified or approaching qualification accountant with work experience in a business/ finance environment. You will have the ability to analyse and sanity check P&Ls & balance sheets and understand linkages between all aspects of finance and accounting. Previous exposure with budget preparation and analysis is desirable. You will be a strong communicator with cross-cultural understanding to liaise effectively within the wider finance team. You will have excellent numerical and data analysis skills and be capable with MS Office packages, integrated accounting systems and preferably report generating software. Lastly, Otsuka is a global company and in particular communicates with European affiliates. With this in mind the use of other languages would be advantageous.
