Job Role
The Regional Tax Manager will have primary responsibility for all tax matters within his or her country cluster including strategic tax planning, FAS 109 reporting, managing outside tax audits and tax compliance including satisfying documentation requirements for FAS 404, APB 23 and FIN 48 . This position reports directly to both the Regional International Tax Director based in the USA. While this position is primarily responsible for income taxes, it is also responsible for supporting the Senior Manager Indirect Taxes for issues within the country cluster.
You will be responsible for:
- Drive value for the Group worldwide through strategic tax planning.
- Ensure that the Group remains compliant with US GAAP tax reporting requirements.
- Proactively review and analyze major acquisitions, divestitures, plant movements or other business transactions and identify any necessary GAAP reporting requirements.
- Work with Regional Tax Managers and the tax leadership team at WHQ to understand The Group's business operations and develop and implement strategic tax structures in response to the changing business environment.
- Interact with the international tax strategy group to analyze reporting requirements.
- Monitor and analyze changes in local country tax laws, regulations and judicial precedence in order to recommend appropriate, timely responses and create value through a lower effective tax rate.
- Manage the tax compliance function by working with internal Group resources and outside consultants. Streamline the compliance process. Identify potential exposure areas and appropriate responses.
- Manage local income tax audits.
- Complete quarterly and annual FAS 109 analysis and documentation including reconciliation of deferred and current income tax balance sheet accounts.
- Support Regional and WHQ Tax leadership in documentation required under FIN 48, FAS 404, and APB 23
- Become the go-to resource on technical matters for the country cluster in order to materially reduce outside fees.
- This position will "own" the tax function for a cluster of countries where The Group has significant operations. The person will be required to understand the complexities of tax law, regulations and judicial precedence for multiple types of tax in multiple countries and to understand how they affect The Group's overall global structure.

Who we're looking for
- Ideally to have experience in international tax.
- A Bachelor's Degree is required. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Strong experience with income taxes in the primary region/country within the cluster is required.
- Strong experience with US GAAP or IFRS tax reporting is also required. - Experience with taxes in the other countries within the cluster is also important.
- Experience with indirect taxes in a plus.
