BP faces a number of major risks, and the role of the Internal Audit function is to provide assurance to the Board over the management of these key risks. Working as part of a team our auditors are typically responsible for designing and delivering high quality audit work to provide assurance over the effectiveness of internal controls, from developing and delivering an approach to an assignment through to identifying control improvements and recommendations and finalising audit reports with senior management in the business. Auditors will often lead these assignments, taking responsibility for delivery of all aspects of the project and the management of a number of colleagues from a broad range of disciplines.
Who we're looking for
• A sound general understanding of risk and control, with particular industry or functional (e.g. IT, Trading) expertise an added advantage.
• A solid track record of delivering high quality internal audit or controls work in a demanding and challenging environment.
• The insight to identify and develop value adding and original recommendations to enhance control in an effective and efficient manner.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade senior individuals of the effectiveness of a particular course of action.
• A proactive attitude to developing new audit, technical and industry skills
• Excellent team players who are keen to learn from a team containing a range of industry experts.
