Global Inventory Planning Manager

Job Role
The primary purpose of this position is to strategically position inventory through established global stocking policies and stocking recommendations to ensure that the right part, in the right quantity, at the right place, at the right time is delivered to the customer. Customer service levels shall be maximized while minimizing the amount of inventory investment required.

Major accountabilities include:

Leading a team of specialists and analysts;
Managing allocations to optimize stock levels and guarantee the quality and continuity of all operations and the lead
time to business and customers;
Understanding each commodity group to maximize effectiveness of decision making and inventory planning;
Collaborating with Director Forecasting and Inventory Planning to establish the right global standards and policies;
Overseeing what-if scenarios and root-cause analyses;
Overseeing and tracking the exception management process and achieving established service criteria;
Conducting inventory replenishment and inventory control;
Supporting product lifecycle management;
Integrating logistic, inventory and capability plan and providing a constant check of available stock;
Maintaining close relationships with the strategic purchasing, manufacturing and engineering;
Initiating new product introduction planning and ensuring timely communication to relevant inter-dependent functions;
Communicating with regional marketing and sales and other business leads to obtain forecast intelligence;
Driving continuous improvement and quality initiatives to continuously refine inventory management practices;
Tracking and managing relevant KPIs and performance metrics;
Analyzing inventory overages/shortages by site using root-cause analysis as well as deep understanding of market
conditions and customer profiles.

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with solid track record;
Deep strategic knowledge in inventory planning practices and extensive knowledge of best practices in planning;
Strong understanding of material planning, forecasting, and supply chain concepts;
Detailed understanding of the role of inventory in the business and its impact on service levels;
Understanding of the business planning cycle and planning hierarchy;
Experience with progressive advancement in supply chain organization;
Proven track record of progressive success in forecasting or planning;
Experience with ERP and supply chain systems (SAP preferred);
Proficiency in MS Office products;
Proven leadership and team management skills with strong analytical and communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues, to initiate actions, and to take effective decisions;
Fluency in English, and other European language(s) as advantage.
