Buyer - Furniture

Furniture retailer

The buyer will be responsible for identifying trends and forecasting market shifts and will be working towards meeting retail objectives for the Furniture division.
Key Accountabilities
• Prepare buying plans based on the sales forecast;
• Attend product fairs and exhibitions;
• Identify suppliers and selects products consistent with the local taste;
• Negotiate orders and the terms of delivery;
• Manage product line, inventory replenishment, and sell through;
• Monitor sales per item;
• Reorder products as required.

Who we're looking for
Skills, knowledge & experience required

• Commercially focused style with an understanding of business issues, confidence to work in a fast paced results-driven, task focused environment;
• Well organized and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Thorough working knowledge of retail issues including local market tastes, sales per item and producing forecasts and season planning;
• Strong organization and planning skills including ability to manage a variety of conflicting demands in a pressurized environment;
• 2 to 5 years buying experience preferably within thefurniture sector,
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Previous experience on branded home stores like; Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Laura Ashley;
• Would even consider a Fashion Buyer;
• International experience preferred, willing to relocate.
