Based from Redditch you will be directly accountable for a product offer in Travel and Touring or In Car Technology, reporting into a category manager.
A thorough understanding of Halfords customers will enable you to deliver a product range that provides maximum top and bottom line growth for the business. This will involve sourcing an innovative range of In Car Technology or Travel and Touring products from both home and overseas. Direct product experience is desirable but not essential.
While managing a small product team you will work cross functionally to influence all decisions that will impact on your range and the customer experience. You'l work with colleagues to develop compelling promotions and packaging:. internal and external relationships will be key to ensuring success.
You will also be expected to ensure that the Halfords product offer stays ahead of its competitors.
Who we're looking for
As a successful and passionate Buyer/Product Manager, ideally within a quality, high volume non food retailer, you will have built a reputation for delivering creative and successful business plans as well as providing class leading customer focused activity. Preferably of graduate calibre and having excellent numeric and analytical skills, you will thrive on working within a pressurised environment where everyone is working to deliver 'the best'. A strong team working ethos is essential as is the ability to work to a shared ideal and vision.
You will be a highly driven, confident, decisive negotiator with the ability to manage some of Halfords largest suppliers.
Excellent communication skills, resilience and the ability to plan and work under pressure will be key to success in the role.
