Walsall Housing Group currently has an exciting and challenging position for a talented Finance Analyst based in the centre of Walsall.
The successful candidate will be a high profile member of the Finance Team, providing support to the Finance Managers and other senior Finance colleagues in delivering a high quality management and financial accounting service to Walsall Housing Group.
You will also contribute to the continuous development of effective reporting to all levels of management, maximising the benefits of IS/IT developments and innovating reports and performance measures to meet the evolving requirements of the organisation.
This position will be ideal for someone wishing to drive their career forward whilst working in a stimulating and challenging environment. There is significant involvement with and exposure to all areas of the group.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:
• professionally qualified accountant or qualified by experience ( ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA ).
• significant experience of preparing management and statutory accounts, aware of latest reporting standards and management accounting techniques.
• capable of producing analytical information in a format that can be understood by non financial colleagues.
• capable with business planning, benchmarking and value for money.
• experience of managing change affecting people and processes in the finance function
• an effective communicator (verbal/written) with well developed presentation skills able to influence and negotiate at all levels to achieve results.
• ability to translate internal/external customer requirements into practical operational reality improving business performance.
• excellent IT skills and experience particularly in MS Office products and large accounting systems.
• Previous financial experience within the RSL or local authority sector.

The housing group owns and manages 19,000 properties across Walsall providing affordable, good quality homes and community-based services to the local community.
The group have recently commemorated their 5th anniversary, a significant milestone since 22,800 properties were transferred from Walsall Council in March 2003.Their investment of over £250 million has ensured that all properties reach the Decent Homes Standard ahead of target. The customers' satisfaction in their service has continued to rise since transfer and they have made considerable investment in improving customer service further.
They have recently been provided with a £5 million Housing Corporation grant to help build new affordable homes and are now well established as a key player, driving the regeneration of the borough.
