Assistant Director, Marketing, Communications and PR

NHS

Leicester

Permanent ⁄ £43221 - £53432

Updated September 28, 2008

The NHS in Leicester City is taking big strides to improve significantly the health of local people and healthcare services. We now need a talented individual to promote our vision and strategy effectively, ensuring engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, and in a way that makes positive change happen.

A key part of your role will be to better understand the needs of the public and patients we serve, as well as our staff. You will develop programmes to ensure that these needs are fully met by local health organisations. You will play an integral part in improving the reputation of the NHS in Leicester City, making sure that public, patients, staff, the media and other interested parties have access to the relevant information they need about their local NHS when they need it.

Who we're looking for
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have a track record of success in leading the development and delivery of strategic communications/public relations and/or marketing programmes.
You will be highly motivated with the drive and desire not only to succeed but also to exceed expectations. You will be a team player with the proven ability to create a vision, and to lead and inspire your own team members and peers.

About our client
Leicester City Primary Care Trust, established on 1 October 2006, is responsible for the health of approximately 289,000 residents living in the city of Leicester. To become a world class NHS commissioner, we need to develop a world class communications and marketing team.

But while our vision is to be world class, our focus is clear - to make Leicester better, improving health and wellbeing, and healthcare services.

What's on offer
This is a highly rewarding role for the right individual, working within a forward-thinking and dynamic organisation, whose members are making a real difference to people's lives every day.
