The purpose of the Indirect Procurement Manager is to develop working relationships with key stakeholders within the business in order to challenge current working practices and obtain the best value solution for any given project. The job will cover a variety of indirect spend categories, with an emphasis on transport related goods & services. You will be responsible for generating budgeted savings and delivering best practice purchasing throughout the business.
In addition, the Indirect Procurement Manager will be responsible for -
• Negotiating and contracting with new and existing suppliers on commercially beneficial terms and conditions, and subsequently maintaining SLA's and contractual obligations throughout the term of the contract
• Reducing supply base to more manageable levels
• Run effective tender processes and 'E' auctions, ensuring clarification of business requirement, and stakeholder management throughout.
• Maintenance of contracts database
• Key spend categories circa £40m total value, including courier services, fleet, fuel, consumables, indirect services.
• Create new ideas and savings opportunities - delivering bottom line savings
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will be a procurement professional with previous experience within a transport or distribution category or industry. You will be an independent thinker and passionate about procurement successes, tenacious and be able to deliver at pace with innovation, possessing excellent negotiation skills with strong commercial judgement. You will be commercially astute with strong business acumen and sound analytical and numerical skills. Knowledge of contracts law and legal compliance will be required. Ideally you will be CIPS qualified or interested in working towards your qualification. Some UK travel may be required with this role.

You will demonstrate the ability to actively implement procurement best practices and continuously review and improve service - creating a continuously improving work ethic.
