This newly created role will see the successful candidates:
• Working in close collaboration with group purchasing colleagues, to plan, collate, develop and implement cost down initiatives via project based opportunities utilising both sound procurement methods and the latest e-procurement technology.
• Commercial support to key Strategic Client Teams and Bid Support in producing and preparing strategic reports/RFI's/Tenders.
• Negotiating and benchmarking contracted agreements to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Managing multi million pound spends covering a broad range of services and commodities.
Who we're looking for
• Sound knowledge of strategic purchasing skills and techniques involving e.g. supplier relationships and development, e-auctions, negotiation.
• Experience of and comfortable with dealing with internal and external business contacts at all levels
• Strong Commercial background with experience in drafting Contracts and Tenders.
• CIPS/equiv or working towards
• Extensive Outsourcing Experience on a wide range of commodities and services.
• Good interpersonal and team working skills at all levels.
• Strong influencing and well developed negotiation skills.
• Excellent PC skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
