Our client provides integrated end to end supply chain solutions for business across the globe. They are seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager for its operations team based in Reading.

Managing the Warehouse operation your primary objective is to ensure your team delivers against continuous operational targets and customer service level agreements.
In addition to planning and co-ordinating Operational activity for your teams your responsibilities will include -

• Responsibility for overall productivity within areas of responsibility, ensuring activities are cost effective whilst managing levels of manpower and additional resources.
• Maintaining and improving performance levels to maximise efficiency of operation in line with site KPIs.
• Monitoring the effectiveness of corrective actions and introduce preventative measures where appropriate.
• Proposing innovative ideas to enhance the warehouse functions and improve the general running of the business.
• Ensuring level of service provided meets the needs of the customers in line with site KPIs.
• Maintaining and enhance the quality systems and initiatives to ensure the site's continuous improvement in a total quality environment.
• Conducting team briefings and ensure effective communications within the Operational Team.
• Responsibility for communication of issues/information to senior management e.g. transport, delivery schedules, warehouse accuracy or general stores queries.
• Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Hygiene regulations
• Maintaining and promoting good industrial and employee relations
• Involvement in disciplinary issues in conjunction with the HR Department.
• Recruit and train subordinate staff in conjunction with the HR Department.

Who we're looking for
Above all our client is seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager with a successful and proven track record in managing warehouse teams, preferably in a 3rd Party Logistics environment.

In addition you must be -

• Able to lead and energise a team
• Have the ability to co-ordinate and delegate within a team
• Operational hands on ability to co-ordinate daily activities
• Experience in dealing with customer relations and skills in Trade Union negotiations
• Familiar with WMS & Microsoft applications
• Knowledgeable with hands on experience of a warehouse functions within FMCG Distribution environments
• Flexible with regards to working hours and be prepared to work Day / Night shifts as necessary
• Must have your own transport for work
