Communications Manager

This role will work closely with the Director of Investor Relations & Communication and other team members to provide high quality communications support for internal and external communications with its stakeholders world-wide. It will also matrix report to the Director of Environment & Community Relations.

The role will have two primary focuses, namely, to help deliver and implement a global external communications plan for the company with an emphasis on Belgian media and to deliver and implement a global internal communications programme. The role will also allow the jobholder to develop their interest in sustainable development in one of the world's largest metals producers.

Key accountabilities
• Deliver the corporate internal communications programme, preparing head office internal communications including CEO presentations, group newsletters and other announcements
• Formalise and co-ordinate Nyrstar's community and communications network
• Oversee and maintain Nyrstar's internet and intranet, including working across several functional teams to design and develop a new intranet
• Compile and distribute corporate announcements and press releases
• Project manage the production of the annual report and sustainable development report and assist in the preparation of interim reports and quarterly trading statements

Key competencies
• Confident team player with excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills
• Self-motivated approach and able to manage programmes to tight deadlines
• Proven track record in developing and implementing communications strategies
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and have sound commercial acumen
• Able to work autonomously and with initiative but also be a team player
• Strong understanding of communications offerings and applications and awareness of cultural differences in a multi-lingual, multi-national working environment

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have an established communications background with a relevant degree, or graduate calibre. You will have experience in setting and implementing an internal communications strategy, ideally with European and multi-national experience. Fluent English essential with French and / or Dutch highly desirable.
