IT Category Manager for a large global telecoms company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement procurement strategy, ensure best practice process and procedures across the organisation.
• Negotiate key IT Outsourcing and software contracts with major suppliers.
• Develop strong knowledge of suppliers, vendors and contracts in place to ensure 'best value' from all relationships.
• To ensure all key suppliers' have considered/are practising according to their stated Quality Management and Environmental processes, and are in line with company policy.
• Delivery of cost benefits and efficiencies through the coordinated management of strategically aligned Key Suppliers.
• To develop and maintain excellent relationships with major vendors and review performance on a regular basis.
• Stakeholder management, advising key stakeholders on spend behaviour and reports.
Who we're looking for
A confident and highly motivated and strategic IT Category Manager with strong influencing skills, a proven track record within IT/Networking and Outsourcing.
Required Knowledge and Skills
• Ownership of significant spend and category management.
• Knowledge of leading edge procurement principles and practices
• Strong business and contractual knowledge
• Able to demonstrate a track history of identifying opportunities for increased performance and driving these through to completion
• Telecoms or an IT background
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Great communication and interpersonal skills driving a proven track record in negotiation
• Well Organised with developed administrative skills
• High degree of commercial acumen
• Background of successfully managing major supplier and vendor relations
