Operations Manager

• Overlaps with the BSF Team in the bidding process as required.
• Takes/helps to develop project and concept design briefs from BSF Director/ Managing Director/Sale Team or directly from the client
• Liaises with the main contractor, client, architect, local authority to develop the detailed design brief
• Works with Estimator to develop the contract Quote
• Works with Quantity Surveyor regarding contractual issues
• Works with Designers to ensure designs meet the client requirements
• Advises on means of achieving budget on the project
• Ensures, with the Managing Consultant that all contractual issue are clarified/resolved and the order is received
• Hands over the project once it is ready for manufacturing to the appropriate Operations Manager and Project Coordinator who will then manage the project through manufacture to installation but remains available for client liaison as and when necessary
• Maintains a project file of all relevant information, meetings, decisions
• Regularly reports progress to the Operations Director
Who we're looking for
• Good understanding of the construction industry
• Good understanding of educational furniture
• Able to read drawings/liaise with architects and designers
• Position requires extensive travel and some overnight stays
• Must be able to communicate clearly at all levels and avoid/resolve problems and conflict
