This role will also be responsible for driving the cross-functional SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) process and disciplines across the organisation for the suppliers that are within the responsibility of this role
Responsibilities
- Sourcing and Advisory
- Develop an appropriate sourcing strategy and model for the above markets
- Pro-actively develop sourcing initiatives to meet internal customers' annual budget and business plans
- Become the recognised and accepted "expert" for the above markets
-Tending and Negotiations
- Managing the tendering process and negotiation for sourcing initiatives
- Source suppliers for products and services which are fit for purpose, at the lowest possible costs and mitigate operational risk
- To re-negotiate all contracts regularly
- Supplier Management
- To develop and manage supplier base to ensure suppliers deliver competitive advantage
- To ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage suppliers
- To act as the Commercial manager role within relevant supplier management teams and act as Relationship manager where required
- Contract Management
- To manage the effective implementation of contracts
- To monitor compliance
Who we're looking for
Candidates should have:
Qualifications:
- Degree level education
- CIPS or equivalent
Skills:
-Knowledge of sourcing Application software, Telephony, Networks categories.
- Have sufficient knowledge of IT to immediately gain the confidence of internal IT customers
- High level of negotiating skills and a knowledge of English Commercial Law
- Experienced in category management and commercial vendor management
- Strong evidence of commercial awareness and customer focus
- Ability to produce accurate/well judged solutions within tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work pro-actively within a larger team in respect of specific products/sectors
- A good understanding and knowledge of financial markets.
- Able to develop good working relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Flexible and able to quickly assimilate fundamentals of other categories of expenditure
