Following an internal promotion/transfer, an opportunity now exists for an FC to join one of the world's leading financial services businesses in the Cayman Islands.
Acting as the sole finance professional within the local business, you will report to a Jersey-based Chief Financial Officer, with a dotted line onto the local Managing Director.
.Purpose of role
• Manage the financial control of all local monthly, quarterly and yearly returns
• Own and manage the month end reporting cycles and ensure that the financial accounts are prepared on time
• Management of the monthly account reconciliation processes to ensure that there is control and review of all transactions posted through the general ledger.
• Maintain a process of regular review of controls with BIA to ensure local adoption and compliance with the group accounting policies.
• Develop and improve the processes surrounding month end and ensure buy-in from key stakeholders within the group to changes to monthly reporting processes
• Management of the statutory reporting cycles ensuring that the legal entity accounts are migrated to, presented and published in accordance with IFRS reporting standards
• Support and management of the annual audit processes within the local jurisdiction
• Own and manage relationships with the locally appointed auditors and ensure that any recommended improvements are implemented and embedded into the operations of the jurisdictions.
• Manage the tax affairs for all legal entities within the jurisdiction and ensure compliance with all filing return dates. Maintain a close working relationship with Group Tax to ensure alignment with group tax requirements. Implement the tax risk and control framework. Ensure effective operation of tax processes and controls that Finance are responsible for.
• Full ownership of all regulatory submissions within the jurisdiction. Ensure good relationships with key contacts within the regulatory department across the jurisdictions.
• Support the Head of Finance in reviews of the Finance operating model and structures implemented within the jurisdiction. Deliver the statutory accounts for all legal entities.
Who we're looking for
The stand alone nature of this role, along with the strict Visa criteria in the Cayman Islands means that there is a very specific applicant profile for this role.
Professional/technical experience
• Proven ability as a Financial controller of a complex business
• Up to date with latest IFRS developments
• Experience of internal control reviews and latest governance frameworks (Sarbanes Oxley).
Managerial experience
• Prior experience of managing all aspects of a finance function
Academic and professional qualifications
• Fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
• Strong academic background :
• First time professional passes
• A / B's at A' Level and
• minimum 2.1 at University (or equivalent for overseas)
UK or offshore experience is preferred.
