Capital Supply Manager

Reporting to the Head of Capital Reporting your position will produce group prudential returns for the FSA, monitoring compliance with prudential requirements and limits.You will ensure the best use of capital capacity by sharing knowledge with other parts of the Group.

Reporting - 50%
• Co-ordinate resources from other areas of the Group, plan and manage the timetable of data collection, consolidation and review to ensure that FSA deadlines are met - failure to comply would result in a public fine with consequent reputational damage.
• Produce Capital Adequacy returns together with supporting analytical material as agreed. There is a strong focus on quality and a need to work to tight deadlines.
• Produce Capital Adequacy information to be included in Results Announcement and Annual Report
• Review and challenge data, generate and follow up on queries.
• Liaise with Auditors
• Provide capital information for inclusion in Large Exposures Reporting

Sharing knowledge and Expert Advice - 15%
• Maintain 'Risk Assets from the Source Book' document and respond to questions from business units.
• Provide expert advice on the regulatory implications of specific large value and complex transactions as an authoritative reference point for staff at all levels including Senior Management to ensure that large and complex transactions have been correctly reflected in the Capital Adequacy return.

Systems and Process - 15%
• Provide business input and conduct User Acceptance Testing for all relevant aspects of SAP system. This will include functional specifications and change requests.
• Manage relationship with CIO in respect of the design, development, testing and maintenance of the Capital Adequacy model. This will include ensuring that group policy on model risk and use of large complex spreadsheets are followed.
• Change processes as Business and Supervisory requirements evolve, maintain process maps and procedures manual in accordance with BIA and Group Controls/Compliance requirements.
• Maintain relevant documentation for Sarbanes Oxley process.

Responding to Supervisory Change & Staff Management 20%
• Completion of the project to ensure that changes resulting from the adoption of Basel 2 are correctly reported
• Close liaison with the consolidation and regulatory policies

A Qualified Accountant of graduate calibre, It will be expected that you have a broad knowledge of FSA Capital Adequacy regime and experience in preparing prudential returns coupled with a broad knowledge of banking business, products and consolidation. You will possess polished communication and influencing ability and have a partnering approach to you work. Leading and inspiring others with a teambuilding approach, your technical skills and knowledge will ensure your credibility with your team and peers whilst demonstrating robust and good decision making capacity.
