This is a Central Airport Services role based at either Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted or Southampton, with travelling to other airports as necessary.

The main purpose of this role is to lead and deliver infrastructure solutions within one of the Capital's project programmes. This involves being accountable for driving and delivering both technically robust and commercially astute performance through the design and production stages of the process. The Capital team is accountable for delivering the aviation capital investment portfolio for buildings and infrastructure. Expenditures vary from between £50m/yr to £150m/yr. The team manage around 30 or so key consultants and contractors and at any one time stewards some 100 major to mega projects.The Capital team consists of around 150 staff of whom 70 are Project Managers, you will work as part of a team of 3-6 Project Managers who will each be accountable for part of a specific programme.

Key day to day responsibilities will include;
• Lead the design and delivery of projects to meet cost, time, quality, safety and sustainability targets.
• The typical project budgets and cash flow you will be expected to manage are projects up to £125m with cash flows up to £15m/yr
• Work up affordable programme requirements and integrate delivered solutions into operations.
• Establish appropriate commercial and technical requirements with suppliers to deliver great value and predictable project performance.
• Establish strong working relationship with airports and client-side stakeholders to understand their requirements and minimise project impact on their businesses.
• Ensure change is properly managed and prioritise and implemented.
• Help identify & resolve issues, problems or opportunities.
• Responsible for personal and, if applicable, team compliance with Health and Safety, Security and Environment/Sustainable Development Policies, ensuring working practices minimise risk to self, work colleagues, customers, staff and the environment.

Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will be able travel to Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted or Southampton and possess;

• Degree and/or post graduate qualification in an appropriate discipline or equivalent academic achievement.
• Membership of an appropriate professional institution or able to show continued personal development.
•Working knowledge of a range of capital/revenue projects with a clear understanding of project management, particularly the establishment of successful project structures.
• Previous leadership of medium value programmes or large projects.
• Of implementing change and working in a continuous improvement environment.
• Working knowledge of project management across a programme of interdependent projects.

Previous Aviation experience is not essential
