The role will involve handling a middle value caseload with supervision and more generally assisting the team on large and more complex matters - perfect for a junior solicitor. The firm attracts substantial cases where all lawyers in the group have exposure to high-value interesting work for well-known market leaders. The content of the work is varied and the successful candidate will have a good level of responsibility and client contact. The successful applicant will be involved in client relationship management and development of new clients.
Who we're looking for
• The Junior Insurance/Reinsurance solicitor should have a sound grounding in contract law and dispute resolution work.
•The successful candidate will work alongside and report to 3 Partners, 2 Associates, 3 Solicitors, 1 Trainee and 3 Paralegals.
• Previous exposure to work areas identified above would be an advantage, but is not a requirement. Candidates without an insurance/reinsurance background, interested in Commercial Dispute Resolution are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Candidates will need sound analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to devise and apply sound and effective strategy on a case.
• Good client skills, approachable and able to inspire confidence and trust in clients.
• Hardworking and able to hit individual performance targets on billing and production.
• Ability to demonstrate sound commercial judgement and common sense.
• Committed team player who is flexible.

City firm with an excellent reputation and track record for training lawyers is reflected in a national in-house training programme and a tutorial programme for all junior assistants involved in Insurance and/or Reinsurance related work. The successful candidate will primarily work across two teams. The well established teams focus upon "big ticket" international and domestic Insurance and Reinsurance disputes. The specialist areas include Property Risks, Products Liability and other Casualty and Construction Risk work coverage advice, policy drafting, regulatory compliance and advice on jurisdiction and applicable law.
