Job Role
- To technically specify and to supervise manufacture, installation and commissioning of gas pipeline thermo-hydraulic modelling software and hardware.
- Modelling software and hardware will be used (1) to determine pipeline operating procedures, (2) for pipeline parameter monitoring during operations, (3) for pipeline pressure protection, (4) for "what if" scenario planning, and (5) for pipeline control room operator training.
- To liaise and co-ordinate with the Nord Stream SCADA/telecoms design team to integrate the pipeline modelling software and hardware into the SCADA system.
- To liaise and co-ordinate with the Nord Stream pipeline construction team regarding pipeline pre-commissioning and commissioning.
- To liaise and co-ordinate with the Gas Shipper (at the pipeline inlet) and the Gas Buyer (at the pipeline outlet), with respect to planning pipeline operations (ramp-up, turn-down, line packing, line unpacking, etc.)
Who we're looking for
- A degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
- Experience in oil and gas industry.
- Experience in gas pipeline process & mechanical engineering.
- Must have experience in high pressure gas pipeline system thermo-hydraulic modelling.
- Must have some experience of pipeline operations and maintenance.
- Experience of gas processing modelling (compression, expansion, heating, cooling, separation, metering) would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience of interfacing with control system design (SCADA, DCS, PLC, telemetry) would be a distinct advantage.
