Thisis a 3 month ongoing contract and you will be required todevelop and lead a specific strategic sourcing programme for defined categories, across a number ofclients, taking the lead on specific/allocated portfolio of sourcing categories, and contributing significantly to the delivery of allocated procurement projects within key markets. You willsupport the Associate/Director of Procurement in the delivery of cost and efficiency savings andanalyse current spend information to develop procurement strategies. A key focus will be toensure contract compliance across the organisation, pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects within key markets. There is an emphasis to meet customer requirements by demonstrating best value for money, through compliance with category priorities and contracts, and by actively managing the market place through development of key strategies for supplier and contract management.
The procurement consultant will have a coverage of £0.5 to £3bn category spend across all commercial spend within the regional health economy to ensure strategies that deliver value for money and improved services.The role is to provide high expert knowledge and skill to ensure procurement and supply chain departments around optimum stock holding for best risk management philosophies
Who we're looking for
?X Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or appropriate professional institute or relevant experience.
?X Masters or equivalent plus senior specialist procurement knowledge and experience<BR>?X Project Management (Prince 2 Practitioner desirable)
?X Continuous professional development (CPD) - evidence of
?X Supply chain management training to be supplemented by additional specialist courses as required
?X Minimum of 3 years part-time study
?X Purchasing Procedures workshops
?X Account management skills training
?X Recognised advanced computer training courses and then on-the-job training.
?X Risk assessment/analysis training
Knowledge
?X Significant and advanced Procurement knowledge comprising:
o Advanced negotiation skills
o Knowledge of Strategic sourcing methodologies
o Knowledge of supply chain theory
o Persuading and influencing and interpersonal skills
o Contract Law and dispute resolution
