Production Control Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the planning of production teams is appropriately organized resourced, trained and directed to meet the operational requirements of the department. The successful candidate will be implementing and working in relation to lean methods and Six Sigma Methodologies.
You will assist the operation managers to achieve departmental budgets and schedules to maximize the productivity of each department within the budget constraints and identify potential savings.
In addition you will be involved in chairing various meetings required for our business unit and contract start up.
You will also provide management information on the performance of the department and production to the operations manager in a timely manner.
Who we're looking for
Ideally from a Rolling Stock background although other Manufacturing/Production industries would be considered.
Ideally you will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a management discipline.
You will demonstrate your leadership skills and your detailed knowledge of business acumen.
You will have a good appreciation of production planning and scheduling, ideally gained in maintenance, repair or overhaul environment.
You Must have a good understanding of Six Sigma and application of lean methods.
Other comparable industries include: Aerospace, automotive, Off Road Vehicles, Yellow Goods.
