This is an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer to join a new manufacturing organisation to implement and further develop manufacturing systems while delivering successful New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to develop a world class manufacturing organisation from the outset. Your primary responsibilities will be:
• Lead all New Product Introduction programmes, development and testing
• Project Manage line setup and line improvement using lean manufacturing principals
• Create full factory layout plans to optimise equipment efficiency
• Management of all phases of the product lifecycle, identifying product enhancement and cost saving initiatives
• Procurement of equipment required to complete installation on time within budget
• Identification of engineering change programmes and improvements to deliver both quality and efficiency gains
• Daily support to the production team to ensure that targets are met.
•Product Improvement through the use of CAD (Solidworks)
Who we're looking for
An innovative and entrepreneurial engineer you will have the ability to work on your own, defining projects which react the needs of the business. You will have evidence of seeing projects through from start to finish and will have personally delivered these to the business. Your skill set will include:
• Experience of successful New Product Introduction and product life cycle management
• The ability to identify and resolve production issues effectively.
• An excellent understanding of lean manufacturing ideally six sigma qualified or a lean expert.
• Project Management including; selection and procurement of equipment through to installation and commissioning
• The willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally abroad
• Experience of using CAD software (Solidworks would be a particular advantage)
