The purpose of the Business Development Manager role is to lead the development of relationships and potential partnerships within the target markets of Airports, Defence and Rail. The role will initially focus on the Defence market. You will be responsible for identifying new projects and developing a prospect pipeline.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the business development activities to ensure that new business opportunities and relationships are developed with potential clients, stakeholders and partners.
- Producing and implementing a sales plan that will lead to the development of an ongoing prospect pipeline for each of the target markets.
- Building the reputation and awareness of EDF Energy within these targets markets.
Who we're looking for
Key skills:
- Demonstrable and proven track record of success and experience in building relationships and winning clients in a commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of contracts and experience in contract negotiations.
- Experience of selling outsourcing solutions together with knowledge of PFI/PPP and other forms of concessions.
- Self starter with ability to act on own initiative.
- Experience delivering successful presentations to both large and small audiences at all levels.
- Command a presence with senior executives both internally and externally.
- An understanding and knowledge base of the energy market is preferable although experience in any commercial service driven environment is attractive.

The Commercial Development department of Infrastructure Services is responsible for focusing and co-ordinating the delivery of commercial type services across the Airports, Defence and Rail markets to ensure growth targets are achieved in line with strategy and performance is optimised.
