Research & Development Manager

Reporting to the Operations Director you will be responsible for Leading and managing the R&D/NPD projects. These may be product or ingredient specific, involving both own initiated projects as well as coordinating and drawing off the expertise from within the manufacturers Maximuscle deal with. You will have a good understanding of current legislation whilst working to develop new legislation within the EU. This will be a key part of this role.
Tasks involved for this role are as follows
• Research products and ingredients to demonstrate that they meet current legislation, are safe, effective and add value to the consumers.
• Meet and develop supplier relationships to enhance the product integrity and development
• Review and oversee internal and external quality control processes and audits.
• Visit relevant nutrition shows and conferences
• Match product development to strategic ambitions
• Provide technical support and input to the sponsorship and training teams
• Work with universities to trial, test and research products & claims

Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate will have experience in one of the following areas:
• Sports and / or nutrition related science degree and post graduate training, with a background in science and in particular research
• Extensive experience in a range of areas in the industry - from manufacturing and quality management to legislation and product development.
• Research background or experience is essential
