Primecare, a leading independent provider of primary care services to the NHS, have recently been successful in bidding to run a new GP led health centre in Redruth, Cornwall. The centre will be integral to the provision of healthcare in the area and will target key groups who traditionally don't access mainstream primary care services.
As part of the development of the brand new health centre, Primecare are looking for a talented and motivated individual for the Practice Business Manager role.

The Practice Business Manager position is integral to the successful launch and running of the new GP led health centre. As such you will be expected to fully engage in the development of this new service as well as to manage and direct a team to ensure excellent service provision.

Who we're looking for
The new practice will require a very commercially astute Practice Business Manager to lead and support the development of patient services in Cornwall. You will have a good track record of Practice Management, or, if from a business background, a working knowledge of the Quality and Outcome framework, directed/local enhanced services and practice based commissioning principles would be highly desirable.

You must thrive on a challenge as well as be able to provide leadership and strategic management skills that will enable the practice to meet agreed aims and objectives. You will be expected to manage and influence the GP's, play a pivotal role within the new practice and drive any future practice development.


The ideal candidate for the Practice Business Manager will have:

• A high level of commercial awareness
• Experience working in a senior role within a busy practice
• A strong strategic management planning background
• Charisma and gravitas to influence and drive towards the practices goals
• Good financial acumen
• The ability to bridge the gap between the clinical and non -clinical staff
• The skills to drive the development and proposal of other services fundamental to relationships with the PCT and the out of hour's service
