This role is a fantastic opportunity to join the organisation as it enters an exciting new growth phase and looks to challenge and improve its existing marketing practices. Reporting to the Head of Individual Giving, you will be responsible for a managing a small team and a budget of over £4 million.
The main areas of the role will be:
• Delivering a compelling and targeted direct marketing strategy to drive cash donations
• Using the full variety of direct marketing techniques (print, online, SMS, ambient media etc) to improve the relevance and effectiveness of customer communication
• Utilising direct marketing techniques and messages to broaden the customer perception of Guide Dogs for the Blind
• Working closely with the Database Marketing team to profile and segment the customer base and maximise the relevance and impact of direct marketing
• Improving the long term understanding of customer profiles in order to build more effective and compelling customer journeys
• Acquiring new customers as well as improving retention rates and average customer values by improving brand loyalty and attachment
Who we're looking for
The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
• An excellent career record in B2C direct marketing
• A strong understanding of digital and new technologies within direct marketing
• Experience of having previously managed a small team (preferable)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to influence at all levels

Guide Dogs for the Blind have been providing blind and partially -sighted people with the freedom and independence that a guide dog gives for 75 years. They are a world leader in breeding and training guide dogs and employ around 900 professional staff in the UK. They are a leading voice for the mobility and access rights for all blind and partially sighed people in the UK. The charity is supported by about 10,000 volunteers, including puppy walkers, brood-stock holders, dog boarders and thousands of local fundraisers. They also fund major research projects looking into the prevention of eye disease, and work to raise awareness of the importance of eye care.
