Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will be responsible for co-ordinating the financial operations of the business to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely group reporting of trading activity and cash flow requirements against forecasts and budgets prepared.

Whilst taking responsibility for the management of a team of 4, split across the UK and the Middle East, this is a hands on and wide ranging role which will cover all areas of the business, offering support to the finance director.
Key duties will include:

Management Accounts & Reporting

• Co-ordinate and direct the preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts for the worldwide operations. Carry out reconciliation of inter-group transactions and balances.

• Co-ordinate preparation of and reconcile monthly and quarterly reporting on project costs for review by managing directors and the board.

• Establish and implement, as an integral part of management, an adequate plan for the financial management of operations.

• Establish and maintain a system of internal management accounting with the objective of assisting the management of individual promotional projects and providing a framework for the reporting of promotional expenditure from individual projects to consolidation by programme, sector, country, area, region and corporate levels.

Budgeting

• Co-ordinate the annual budget and planning process. Ensure that actual accounts and project statements are reported against agreed budgets and forecasts.

Treasury

• Co-ordinate and prepare monthly forecasts of the future short and medium cash requirements of the Group.

• Efficiently manage cash flow in order to meet branch and subsidiary requirements while maximising surplus funds available for investment.

• Obtain best returns for investment of surplus funds within approved guidelines.

Statutory Accounts, Controls and Policies & Procedures

• Co-ordinate the preparation of year end statutory accounts for all entities and consolidated accounts for group. Primary contact with Auditors.
• Manage and control the adherence of the financial operations of group to agreed policies and practices and ensure the efficiency of finance operations globally.

• Develop and recommend policies, procedures, methods and systems with regard to cost/financial/tax management accounting.

Who we're looking for
The successful individual will be a qualified accountant with a strong technical reporting background in IFRS, knowledge of US GAAP would also be an advantage. As a key hire for this organisation you will be a strongly visible and highly credible team and as such will be required to liaise across the business.
There is a huge amount of value that the right person can bring to this role and as a result they are also keen to gain someone who has had strong management accounting experience in a service industry, for example Legal, professional services or consultancy.Multi site and multicurrency experience will also be a pre-requisite.
