Reporting into the Head of Financial Planning and Reporting, working for the Finance and IT division's, your key responsibilities will include:-
• Identify and develop a road map for financial systems projects.
• Provide technical support and project management in the development of ad hoc database reporting models necessitated by changing business requirements.
• Provide finance systems expertise to ensure the finance system projects are delivered on time and to budget and specification.
• Manage the relationship with finance systems suppliers mainly Aggresso.
• Provide line management, direction and leadership to the Finance Systems Team.
• Ensure that all documentation needed to support and maintain project activities is in place to enable adequate handover, monitoring and control to take place.
• Consistently monitor and advise to the appropriate business owners or project committees, project progress, slippage, exceptions or changes that may affect the progress of the project.
• Prepare and manage financial budgets for the projects.
• Identify and monitor the risks to the successful outcome of the project and to plan the necessary counter - measures to minimise the impact of these risks.
• Champion the development and maintenance of the IT project management methodology.
Who we're looking for
To be successful in this role you will be an accomplished project manager with an excellent track record of managing Finance systems projects or you will be working within an IT department where Finance is one of your main customers. You will demonstrate a sound knowledge of IT development methodologies, demonstrable experience of IT project management involving the development of a wide variety of IT projects using industry standard development tools and products. You will also have demonstrable experience of managing third party suppliers, mainly Aggresso andexcellent development life cycle knowledge
.
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and the ability to relate to users at all levels of the organisation where negotiation and influencewill be important. The key featuresto the roleare attention to detail, managing a processes and delivering on time and to budget.
