Founded in 1918 Clas Ohlson is a Swedish retail chain with over 85 stores in Sweden, Norway and Finland. We have opened our first 2 stores in the UK and they are already proving to be successful. A considerable amount of time and effort has already been invested in preparing for growth in the UK. We are planning to open several new stores this year. In order to develop our store portfolio we are looking for a UK Sales Manager to help maximise sales and profitability. This will support the overall objective for Clas Ohlson to become the number one destination for solving life's everyday problems. This role reports to the Country Manager.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Development of sales strategy
• Pricing and margin management
• Campaign Planning and forecasting
• Range management and strategies
• Look and feel of the stores / visual merchandising
• Commercial planning and promotional management
• Working closely with marketing, visual merchandising and purchasing
• Liaison between the UK and Sweden
• Work closely with the UK marketing manager to contribute to and develop the company business plan and strategy

Who we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will need current or previous track record within a commercial and operational management role, with particular advantage given to those who have operated within a non-food retail business. You will need to demonstrate high commercial acumen, communication and influencing skills and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

• Leadership and people skills
• Exceptional communication skills
• Commercial acumen and the ability to challenge, drive and develop sales solutions
• Sales experience in a retail market, central ops, store or other channels
• Range management, pricing, forecasting
• Passion and interest in market trends and consumer goods
• Project Management skills
Ideally you will be educated to degree standard or equivalent and have a high degree of numeracy. If you have working knowledge of the retail industry within your current or previous positions then this would certainly be advantageous.
