Bid Managerrequired tomanage and coordinate the preparation of estimates/budgets/cost plans and where necessary design information in accordance the determined bid strategy for enquiries for the Midlands region. Including the management of the preparation of pre-qualification documentation, tender return information/documents and follow-up information.
Responsibilities will include the following:

• Determine whether it is appropriate to submit a tender in response to a clients enquiry.

• Examine tender documentation and develop in association with line manager the appropriate tender/bid strategy.

• To liaise with the Senior Management Team & Chief Estimators to ensure adequate resources are made available to complete estimates in accordance with the bid strategy, company procedures and to the required timescales. Ensure all Company Tendering Q.A. procedures are followed and relevant forms issued.

• Liaise with the Regional Business Development Manager & Chief Estimators to ensure accurate estimates are produced for the labour, plant, materials and sub-contract element of the tender also ensuring collation of financial information to provide prime costs of tender.

• To liaise with the Chief Estimators and organise tender review meetings and tender adjudications with line management (including Procurement Team) to review financial information/overheads/project margin associated with the work. Ensure Tender Outcome Forms are completed for adjudication.

• In conjunction with the Regional Business Development Manager & Chief Estimators: plan, co-ordinate and liaise with other departments, especially Design, Planning and Procurement, for them to provide, as required, information/resources in support of the tender and return documentation.

• Set up and maintain a data log of specialist contractors and suppliers for the Central Region. Liaise with the Chief Estimators and his team to ensure these are utilised within the tender, where possible.

• In association with the Chief Estimators provide a monthly up date on estimating progress, a monthly estimating cost report, a log of tenders and "hit ratio".

Who we're looking for
A Bid Manager with a proven track record in the production of responses to invites to tender, ideally within hard Facilities management, Term Maintenance or Mechanical & Electrical contracting.
