Reporting to the Chief Executive this a key role working as a key member of the Executive Management Team of this small but vibrant Christian Charity. As well as acting as the leading interface between management and Trustees on financial matters one of your principle objectives will be to adopt and to realise the vision of the organisation through your financial leadership and overall approach. Further key areas of activity will include:-
• Strategy and Business Planning
Contributing to the preparation of the strategic plan, ensuring an effective balance between 'top-down' and 'bottom-down' planning.
• Financial Management
Preparation of annual budgets and forecasts as well as regular review.
Provide a high quality accounting service for use by line managers and budget holders. Meeting line managers on a monthly basis, helping them interpret financial information - including budgets, KPI's and variance analysis in order to enhance departmental performance and encourage a culture of financial accountability.
Improving financial controls and financial reporting.
Full management and financial accounts production. Statutory Accounts to SORP. Financial Modelling. Tax planning. Pension & Life Assurance arrangements.Planning and managing cash flow and investment activity.
• Leadership and Communication
Work closely with the Chief Executive and and fellow members of the Executive team and as well providing leadership to the accounts team.
Who we're looking for
A qualified accountant with experience of Charity accounting regulations including SORP. As a person of Vision, you should display leadership and team building skills, as well as having a diplomatic and persuasive nature.You should also have the ability to present financial information in an interesting and understandable format for non-finance staff.
Please note - A Genuine Occupational Requirement is attached to this position as the job holder will be expected to provide Christian leadership within the organisation. It is therefore essential that the job holder is a practising Christian.
